Members of congress are paid well, and as such should do their job, which includes passing the federal budget. A full budget has not passed since 2009, which has had serious impacts on all Americans, the economy and our global agenda. Please pass a bill/amendment which institutes:
1. Pay freeze for members of congress/President any year in which full budget is not passed by Oct 1
2. Members wages lost during salary freeze cannot be reinstated
3. Congress remains in session until budget passed
Given restrictions imposed by 27th Amendment, the President should call on all members of congress to donate their salaries to veteran’s charities until the bill/amendment is enacted. He should lead by example. Self-serving politicians should stop holding the needs of America hostage.
