Require Congressmen/women to work a standard 8-6 day, 5 days a week. Also make gigabit internet at the home standard.

The people in Congress don't know how hard the American people work. They get months off at a time, and only "work" when the absolutely have to. I believe that they should be required to work 5 days a week, from 8AM to 6PM. This would give them a taste of what Americans are actually going through. Oh, and if they don't show up on time they get fired, just like Main Street! On the side of Telecommunications, we live in the digital age. There is no reason that gigabit internet shouldn't be available to every citizen of the United States. Hell, we invented the damned thing. I know the corporate backbone networks are capable of handling the traffic, so why not "help" them along with some regulations? Not to mention the tens of thousands of jobs this would create...
