In order for someone to buy a firearm, he or she needs to pass a customized mental health evaluation, designed by psychological professionals and approved by the government. This evaluation is not conclusive. For anyone with a licensed firearm, the evaluation should be repeated every 2-3 years, as the status of an individual's mental health is susceptible to unexpected changes. Considering the lack of willingness of our government to give up their beliefs on gun control, this evaluation could serve as a healthy middle ground for the nation.
