Require debit/credit (card) transactions be paid for by the purchaser, not seller or merchant.

Created by N.H. on October 16, 2011

Purchasing a product with a credit or debit card is a convenience for the buyer, and the buyer should be responsible for paying the fees associated.

The Problem
- Merchants are 'locked' into accepting credit/debit transactions due to the heavy prevalence.
- Credit/Debit companies charge the merchant for these transactions.
- (Generally) Goods sold by the merchant are increased to cover this cost.

The Cause
People who pay with cash are supplementing the costs of this system, when they gain no benefit. This disproportionately harms the poor or young, as they can't normally obtain non-predatory credit cards.

The Solution
Force credit/debit card providing companies to only obtain the fees and costs from the buyers.
