This is a petition to pass a law requiring collection agencies to verify the phone numbers they are using to make collection calls. Personal phone numbers must belong to who they are calling.
Collection agencies feel free to harass anyone including persons with no connection to the person they are trying to collect from. The incessant abusive calling is not only annoying. It is expensive in the case of pay as you go cell phone users. It is frightning to senior citizens when the collecting agent is verbally abusive or worst they don't speak and hang up. Then make repeat calls to the same number.
