require dental insurers to cover young adults until they are 26 years of age.

Created by R.R. on January 18, 2013

Many students and recent graduates are struggling to find jobs or situations that provide them access to dental insurance. While health insures are required to provide coverage until 26 years of age, dental insurers are not.

Bad dental health can lead to a host of problems. Without regular dental care, serious medical problems can arise. Untreated root canals have been linked to leukemia, untreated cavities can lead to abscess teeth and gum and bone infections. Even in unserious cases, bad dental health can decrease quality of life and a persons productiveness. In most cases, these conditions are preventable and easily treatable with access to healthcare.

But most people can not afford it and recent graduates cannot afford dental insurance. This is something that needs to change.
