Require Dietary Supplements, Vitamins, Herbs, Alternative Medicine, Homeopathy, to meet the same testing as medications

Created by K.S. on January 22, 2012

There have been many science based trials, all peer reviewed by Doctors in the fields of Western Medicine, that show that Homeopathic, Alternative, and Supplement based treatments have little or no effect on the actual symptoms they are being taken for. Yet the current government agencies do not require clinical trials or evaluations to determine the actual effect these drugs and herbs have on the body.
Anything that effects the human body should be regulated to ensure that it is being tested for the side effects as well as any fact based reactions the substance may have on the body.
The regulations currently in place under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA) allows for anyone to manufacture and distribute "supplements" with no testing required.
