When child support ends at 18, often the parent who was paying the support does not offer additional financial support for the child. This means that the costs of college must be born by a single parent, which is often impossible.
This petition requests that legistlation for child support be changed so that both parents who were providing support are both responsible for providing money for college, including books, tuition, lodging and any other associated cost.
It is no longer possible to obtain meaningful employment in America, or any other nation, without a college education. The legislators of this country need to address this problem immedidately, if they do not want Amercia to become a third world country.
