A simple change that could save millions of lives. Most people don't care what happens to their organs after death, so they don't bother to check the organ donation box on DMV paperwork. As a result, we face a critical shortage of kidneys, livers, and other lifesaving organs.
This petition would assume organ donation by default, and would provide a checkbox on DMV paperwork for those who DON'T want to donate their organs after death. Countries that have implemented this opt-out system have shorter wait lists for transplants and far fewer deaths from organ failure.
