EA and Maxis released SimCity 2013 with an always-online type DRM. After requests for an offline/single player version EA claimed that it would take serious engineering to remake the game in a single player environment. This has been proven to be untrue and we feel that as the consumers of this product we have been cheated out of the game we deserve.
We feel like a statement from the Obama Administration might persuade EA/Maxis to recreate this episode of the SimCity series in a way that includes single player and local network capabilities.
