Require each states Senators to consist of, by Amendment, one from each of the two major political parties.

Created by W.D. on November 13, 2012

This petition is designed to promote the passage of a Constitutional Amendment that would alter the current method of electing Senators to the U.S. Congress.
The House of Representatives is a body designed to represent the population balances within each state of the Union. The Senate, as the higher house of Congress, should have a divided, equal representation for the entire state, meaning that since each state has two Senators, one should be from the primary Conservative party and the other from the leading Liberal party. This would assure that all Americans (even independents, regardless of which way they lean) would have a voice in our government.
Under the current system, a states members of Congress could end up from only one party with no voice for the minority. This is a solution.
