Right now, many workers around the nation lose their vacation time if they don't use it. This vacation time is often earned; either due to hours worked per year, gradually over a period for salaried individuals, or by some other means. Employers should not be allowed to let earned vacation hours expire after a set period, but should instead be required to either pay out those hours as income, or alternately let the hours accrue (with no limit) to be used by the worker at a later date. Upon termination, those hours should be payable as well.
Americans are some of the hardest workers in the world. Earned time off with pay should not simply vanish because the worker can't take the time away to use it. We work for it, we should get to keep it.
