Require employers to make salaries public in order to close the gender pay gap

Created by E.S. on May 27, 2014

Women make less money than men on the whole. That is wrong. It is hard to prove discrimination. Not only that, many employers discourage, if not outright ban, their employers from discussing salaries. In order to make sure that there is complete transparency, I call on the Obama Administration to support measures that would require employers to not only make employees' salaries public, but to also justify their salaries: education, experience, real-world results, time spent on the job, discipline problems, and substance abuse problems among other factors.
