Require / Enforce Firearm Owners Accountability. Don't challenge 2nd ammendment rights.

First let me say that I am a gun owner and support the 2nd ammendment. Unfortunately even minor changes in gun regulations is a non-starter for many gun owners (myself excluded). Some "common ground" MAY be available in legislation requiring gun owners to be held FULLY and criminally accountable for how their legal firearms are used by others not authorized to use them. Most of the school shootings involved misappropriated firearms not belonging to the shooter. The legal owners who failed to secure their dangerous machinery should be prosecuted as accessories before the fact. Accountability legislation nullifies any claims of second ammendment rights infringement. A firearm is a machine like any other and needs to be properly secured in a way that protects the public from harm.
