require exotic animal owners to obtain a license or permit to privately possess the animal.

Created by C.V. on December 08, 2014

The five remaining states that do not regulate exotic animal possession- Alabama, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wisconsin should require owners to possess a license or permit. Throughout the United States, there are owners of exotic pets that do not have the necessary means to protect, not only the wild animals they possess, but also the innocent people surrounding them. There are too many wild animals irresponsibly kept captive who, when escaped have and will continue to harm innocent people. Requiring owners to possess a license will dramatically reduce the numbers of animals being kept in unlivable conditions and innocent human lives lost.
