The mental health screening is much too lax for the purchase of firearms, if people that are mentally stable really want firearms, they can still get them, but if they do not pass the screening, they have no business getting them. Also, high powered assault rifles serve no purpose in the USA, they are not used for hunting or protection, they are completely unnecessary and only lead to excessive violence.
