Require the FAA to provide a minimum seat pitch and width for passenger safety on commercial airlines

Created by W.M. on December 23, 2013

We request that the FAA require a minimum seat pitch and width for passenger safety on commercial airlines. In the event of an plane crash or fire, crowded seats and aisles will result in greater injury and loss of life. Without regulation airlines inexorably minimize seat width and distance between seats (pitch) to maximize profits. See the NYT article on 12-23-13 and especially the safety-related comments.
