Require FAFSA to lower the age to be considered an independent student from 24 to 21 years old.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) requires that students who wish to be considered "independent" be at least 24 years of age (among other restrictions), because of this age requirement, many students do not qualify for Pell Grants, which is financial aid that does not need to be repaid. Students who do not meet the requirements of becoming an independent student must rely on their parents finances. This makes it very unlikely that a they will receive financial aid. By lowering the age requirement, many students who are already "independent" financially (by living on their own, and paying their own bills, etc) will be able to be recognized as independent by the Department of Education. This would allow more students the opportunity to go to school, without hefty student loans
