The Fairness Doctorine was repealed in 1987, thus eliminating "News" organizations from being impartial and to face check their stories. Whereas the advent of social media had created a plethora of fake news sites that hold no moral responsibility to be accurate in their reporting, the FCC should require and media identifying as "News" and not satire, to be upheld to the obligation to be fair and accurate in their reporting or face fines. This would not be an infringement of freedom of speech, but an enforcement of it, to secure the authenticity of facts in an era of replacing real news with propaganda and shock entertainment.
