. Each year acetaminophen causes over 100,000 calls to poison control centers; 50,000 emergency room visits, 26,000 hospitalizations, and more than 450 deaths from liver failure. Also, regular use of acetaminophen is linked to a higher likelihood of asthma, infertility, and hearing loss (especially in men under 50 years of age).
The FDA has done little to warn consumers about the dangers of acetaminophen. This drug is bad for the liver, leads to an increase in childhood allergies and asthma and has been associated with severe skin reactions. Additionally, it is only a pain killer and fever reducer and exhibits no real anti-inflammatory properties.
It's time for the use of this drug to be eliminated or seriously curtailed.
