require the Federal holiday of Thanksgiving to be honored by Big Box Retailers.

Created by J.S. on October 29, 2014

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in the United States as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is also a day for family, food, and traditions. By retail stores opening on Thanksgiving day the employees of these stores are unable to celebrate their family and traditions. The people of America are a strong people, but retailers are sacrificing their employees life and traditions for the almighty dollar. Employees need their jobs to obtain the "Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness" but risk being fired if they call off. Please prevent Big Box retailers from opening on Thanksgiving day at anytime allowing the earliest time to be 12:01 am on the Friday following. This does not only cause issues with employees but shoppers.
