This would require fedeal policy makers to live for one year on a minumum wage income prior to running for office. This is the same minumum wage that most americans currently try to survive on. As it stands, most, if not all of our federal law makers, are earning six figure incomes and many are absent when voting on important issues so are effectivly being paid for doing absolutely nothing. Our current law makers have no problem voting themselves "raises" (for what?) yet continually deny the american citizen the same consideration. I think they should be requied to walk in OUR shoes before deciding for us what a "living wage" is. I strongly suspect that after living as most americans do for awhile, they may be just a little more sympathetic to OUR daily struggle.
