Defense secretary Leon Panetta recently announced a lift on the ban of women serving in combat arms in the US armed services. Since women will soon be allowed to serve in the same capacity in the armed forces, their service is critical to provide trained and untrained personnel to the DoD in the event of a national emergency. We request that women between the ages of 18-25 register for the Selective Services System, fulfilling the same legal obligation of men of the same ages.
