Obesity is a major health concern in the United States and much of it arises from the lack of awareness of what is in our food. Food manufacturers, fast food businesses, and restaurants should be require to place the amount of calories, sugars, fats, and sodium in their food products in television and print advertisements. This is not unprecedented as drug companies are required to list side effects in their advertisements. This would likely lead to restaurants and food makers thinking twice about what they put in the food they sell us.
