Our federal court system has been suffering a calamitous decline in confidence and our judges are becoming more and more viewed as being untrustworthy. Yet, if a citizen wants to see for himself how justice works in our system, they must pay for that privilege via the PACER system. That system should be free for all citizens to access and not just accessible for lawyers and others who are able to pay.
The public has lost faith in our federal court appeals process, a process shrouded in mystery and opaqueness. The public should be able to see the arguments presented to our federal appeals courts and not have those appeals briefs buried from public view. those appeal briefs should all be posted free online for the public to understand our federal court process transparently.
