Require full-time, local police, at all public schools while schools are open

Created by D.M. on December 18, 2012

Enact legislation that would require all public schools to employ at least one local police officer to be present at, and ensure the security of, our schools at all times, while the school is open.

This legislation would directly provide;
1. A deterrent to any planned aggression towards our children and teachers
2. A continuous and open line of communication to local first responders in the event of an attack
3. Direct communication, through the officer(s), to local safety and law enforcement officials which would strengthen the ties between our schools and those resources

Additionally, this proposed legislation would reduce the incidence of truancy, provide a deterrent to drug use, and help eliminate bullying.
