“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” -2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution
In the spirit of the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution, we propose that ownership of firearms other than single-shot rifles require mandatory draft into an American Militia, with no upper age limit.
Said militia can be used to augment military support and possibly replace the national guard in foreign conflicts.
Should a gun owner not wish to support his/her country’s safety and defense in this manner, said gun owner will have the right to surrender his/her firearms.
