Require gun owners to carry liability insurance for their weapons, the same way it is required for automobiles.

Created by M.C. on October 21, 2013

In order to operate a motor vehicle, we are currently required to have a minimum amount of liability insurance for bodily and property damage. The same kind of insurance requirement should be enforced for firearms. There is currently no way to hold a gun owner responsible for the cost of damage, injury, or death resulting from the use of their firearm. By requiring insurance, this will cause gun owners to be more vigilant about how they store and secure their weapons.
