Along with requiring background checks, along with making guns unusable by someone other than the rightful owner, along with adding GPS -- all things mentioned in the speech on 4 January 2016 -- we petition that gun owners be required to carry additional insurance if they own a gun.
Just as in that speech, Obama mentioned that gun deaths are almost as high as automobile deaths, why are automobile owners required to pay high insurance rates, which actually reflect the driving abilities of others and not necessarily themselves, while gun owners have no responsibility towards insuring the care of innocent others that may be injured by their weapons.
Just as health and auto insurance is now required, so should be gun insurance.
