The current healthcare system is built on invisible fee structures. Customers (patients) receive services without knowing the "list price" or the "insurance price," and so the market has no accountability for costs.
Physicians and hospitals should be required to post their fee structures conspicuously, either on a signboard, or printed menu of services.
