Require the house and senate to read and understand what they are voting on.

Voting for a bill without first understanding what is in that bill is dangerous, irresponsible, and immoral. If the people we send to Washington to govern our nation are too busy to understand what they are voting on, then they need to find a new line of work. The problem in Washington today is that too many of our legislators are disengaged and vote as they are told to by their party leadership, with no understanding of what they are voting on. Such dereliction of the solumn duty and abdication of responsibility for the office they hold proves that they are unfit for service. Remove legislators that are guilty of this crime against America and strip them of the cushy benefits package that they voted to give to themselves.
