require households, buildings, shops, and restaurants to turn off all interior lights when no one occupies the building

If the Obama administration were to require all buildings to turn off interior lights, these places would benefit financially, and save energy. Financially, the businesses and buildings electricity bills would decrease, leaving the owners with more money. In households, turning off interior lights would again, decrease the cost of the electricity bill, leaving the owner with more money to spend elsewhere. Shops that advertise may argue that this would negatively affect them, but, the amount of money saved on the energy bill would be more beneficial than night advertisement. As many people choose to neglect, global warming is a real and prevalent issue in our world; and by turning lights off, it would decrease Americas consumption and need for coal, oil, and gas.
