Require human control of any military, law-enforcement, or private sector hardware capable of deadly force.

Created by H.G. on December 23, 2012

We, the undersigned, look forward to the inevitable development of artificially intelligent systems and believe in their potential to benefit mankind in innumerable ways. We also understand that there are many possible applications of artificially intelligent systems that may threaten or endanger humans.

We urge this administration to consider legislation that does the following:

1. Prohibit the use of artificially intelligent systems to autonomously control or operate mobile and fixed-base hardware for military, law-enforcement, or private sector purposes that include deadly force capabilities.

2. Require full-time, human control and responsibility for any hardware with deadly force capabilities.
