require institutions reciving funding from the Dept of Education to adopt non-discrimination rules for LGBT students

Created by J.S. on February 12, 2016

As spring approaches, US high school students will begin thinking about spring formal dances, including prom. For LGBT youth, this can be one of the most difficult moments of their school year.

While recently stories of LGBT couples attending prom are more common, the number of stories of LGBT persons denied their rights at school are still too numerous.

LGBT kids being denied programs is often caused by adults protesting what their kids are indifferent to. Take the case regarding protest of a GSA at Franklin County High School in TN.

If an educational institute receives funding from the Fed Dept of Education, adopt a policy of requiring compliance with basic LGBT inclusion so to continue receiving funding; ensuring LGBT youth aren't discriminated against by the schools that serve them.
