require insurance companies to cover medical expenses associated with hearing aids for children from birth to 19.

Created by B.P. on October 31, 2011

In many states, parents must pay for hearing aids for their children because insurance companies will not cover the costs. Hearing aids can cost thousands of dollars, especially for bone conducting aids.

It doesn't seem right that states like Maryland and Colorado have to pass state laws to force insurance companies to cover these expenses for children.

Oddly enough, insurance will cover the exam that determines if hearing aids are needed.
