Require insurance companies to provide coverage for infertility as a recognized medical condition.

This petition is requesting the government to pass a federal law which would require all insurance providers to extend coverage/benefits for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. Currently only 15 states have laws in place that address the option for insurance companies to provide infertility benefits. The majority of insurance companies do not cover either the diagnosis or treatment of infertility. This is a common medical condition that affects many women and dramatically effects the American family. Shouldn't every women have the right to carry a child or at the least know they are not able to. Infertility is often associated with other underlying medical conditions, by denying medical testing on the basis of infertility insurance companies are hindering our right to quality care.
