Require insurance companies to use American Psychiatric Association treatment guidelines for claim decisions

When a person is trying to get mental health care they shouldn't have to fight unrealistic standards by insurance companies that.value profit over quality care. This petition asks the Obama administration to force all insurance companies to use the American Psychiatric Association's treatment guidelines since they know the most about mental health issues. They would be able to establish easier criteria for treatment but nothing that would be harder to meet. The brain is a part of the body and those of us with mental health issues should not have a harder time getting care as those with other health issues.
