Your credit history will dramatically effect your insurance premium (the amount they require you to pay). Insurance companies determine your premium based on THEIR own formula better known as an "Insurance Risk Score." The theory is that there is a direct correlation between your insurance risk score and the likelihood that you will file a claim. I recently asked my agent for my score and was told that agents are not provided that information. Only the corporate office has that information since they are the ones who determine the premium amount for an individual policy holder.
