Children with early diagnoses of developmental delays have the greatest ability to overcome these delays as they grow. This is especially true of delays caused by conditions like Cerebral Palsy, where early intervention can allow the child the best chance to live as close to a normal life as possible. The best solution for these children after delays are detected is almost universally physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Many insurance companies limit the number of visits per year they will pay for, and worse require a deductible to be met prior to paying anything for these essential therapies. Families devastated by these diagnoses should not be required to shoulder the additional thousands of dollars in expense because insurance companies don't want to pay for treatment.
