Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the United States have a virtual monopoly.
The USA is currently ranked 28th in the world for internet download speeds and 47th for upload speed.
Customer service at many ISPs is notoriously bad (recently, one very large ISP was voted the "Worst Company in America")
Likewise, internet service outages are not uncommon, and consumers effectively have no recourse when those occur.
In light of the poor quality of service and the overall lack of recourse available to consumers, I am petitioning the White House to require ISPs to provide Service Level Agreements to their customers
These SLA's should cover customer support wait times; uptime guarantees; and bandwidth performance.
Failure to meet SLAs should result in fines and refunds to consumers
