Require the IRS to Audit America's Largest Churches

Created by J.C. on August 18, 2015

This week on "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Televangelists (HBO)" (in a segment available at < https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y1xJAVZxXg >), John Oliver recently exposed that many leaders of churches enjoy lavish lifestyles, sometimes at the expense of those in desperately seeking hope from terrible situations--and do so with exemptions from taxation and effectively no government oversight.

We request that the IRS audit the largest (by annual revenue) 50% of churches operating in the USA or soliciting donations from its residents, in decreasing order of revenue, at a rate of no fewer than 500 churches per year.
