Require the Justice Department to create a Model Law Enforcement and Police Accountability Law.

Created by O.A. on September 17, 2014

Recent court decisions have expanded police powers and hold individual police officers unaccountable for their negligent and often illegal actions. These decisions allow police officers to trample on the rights of citizens without fear of individual responsibility. This allows police officers to get away with murder and other lesser violations of law. Whereas private citizens view video taped outrageous police conduct with horror, the police themselves justify their actions with flimsy excuses and no action is taken against the officers.

Therefore, the Justice Department should be required to create a Model Law Enforcement & Police Accountability Law for adoption by the various states to hold individual police officers accountable, both financially and professionally, for their actions.
