Require labeling of corn as a food allergen

Created by S.S. on November 15, 2012

There are an increasing number of people who have reported adverse reactions to corn and corn products found in packaged foods, medicines, hygiene products, perfumes, air fresheners, cleaning products, paper, plastic, and more.

The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 Currently requires the FDA to label consumer products containing the top 8 allergens: wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, fish, shellfish, and eggs.

The FDA needs to start including allergy warnings on products containing corn, corn products, and/or corn derivatives.

Corn currently has a number of names it can be labeled as, including the ones found here: http://www.cornallergens.com/list/corn-allergen-list.php

Start labeling corn, corn products and corn derivatives as allergens!
