Require labels on foods and other products disclosing how many and what types of animals were harmed in their production

We ask the Obama Administration to require labels on all goods, including foods, clothing, etc., disclosing how many and what types of animals have been harmed or killed in their production. One day in the distant future, our descendants may view the unnecessary killing of animals for food, clothing and other products as a crime against our fellow sentient beings. It is already commonplace to see in movie credits a phrase such as "no animals were harmed in the making of this movie." How many food or clothing items could claim the same? Although humanity is not yet ready to give up eating and wearing animals, at least we can begin raising awareness by reminding ourselves of the cost of our pleasures in terms of the pain and suffering of our fellow beings.
