In recent couple of years, we've seen too many gun-related death on television. Each incident comes with media's fixation on who the shooter is and why he did it, rather than focusing on the lives rased by these meaningless deaths.
Canada had the similar case, where a shooter killed 3 mounties. But instead of talking about who the shooter is and why he did it, Canadian law enforcement and media limited their description of the shooter and discussed more about mounties that were killed.
Statistically, US has 6 times more homicide deaths than Canada, and I believe it's about time we test out Canada's method to prevent further copycat killing. Since we can't silence media, the law enforcement agencies should limit killer's information so they will lose motivation to get famous by killing.
