Require Law Enforcement to wear Video/Audio recording device while on duty so there is a record of what actually occured

Created by K.L. on February 19, 2014

Require ON DUTY Law Enforcement to wear tamper proof camera and mic so there is a record of all activities and interactions while on their shift and is kept on file for a period of time to be used in trial. This would stop police brutality, false claims of police brutality, as well as many frivolous lawsuits that are costly for the state. As LEO, they have a lot of responsibility to get it right the first time and if they don't, there's an incentive to falsify reports to save their career. There's too much on the line to just take their word for it. If they commit a crime it will be on video and if they really did have a gun pointed at them first making it a justifiable shooting, it too will be on video. It's a win win for society and police alike. Much like the dashcam they all have now.
