In light of the government's potential shutdown tomorrow (due to the Senate and House not being able to agree on a budget), and in a few weeks (due to the debt ceiling), I think it's important to look at the reason why.
Mainly, it's that some legislators think poor people shouldn't be allowed to get health insurance and well... be alive. They have reasons why they think this, some good, and some bad... but what it comes down to is this: if those legislators REALLY wanted "Obamacare" to be funded and work, it would work. All it takes is money, and the money for this could be found.
So, why not give those legislators a good reason to keep Obamacare afloat? Their own health and safety should be enough.
If it's good enough for their constituents, it should be good enough for them.
