This petition is in response to Cuomo's "Message of Necessity" that was used to ram through the poorly written NY SAFE ACT that was a major nail in the coffin for NY residents' 2nd Amendment rights.
Most legislatures were given less than one hour to read a bill with over 60 clauses on it. This is entirely unacceptable and has been the way Cuomo has been pushing bills through since elected.
This is one example of the legislation we have seen lately. Now Obama and Biden are campaigning to "buy a shotgun" instead of a rifle and "shoot it out the back door". This is both extremely dangerous and ignorant, not to mention blatant disregard of the 2nd Amendment.
We need our legislatures to actually study bills, do research, and talk to the people before voting and campaigning. common sense
