The purpose of this petition is to require all persons purchasing firearms to purchase liability insurance for the use of that firearm. Such liability coverage would include loss of human life, wrongful death, unintentional or accidental killing of a human life, maiming or injuring humans or animals, and coverage for public or private property damages as the result of discharging a firearm. Criminal laws violated will not discharge a civil cause of action for damages or wrongful death or animal death. All sales of firearms must include proof of purchase of liability insurance before a bill of sale or the firearm itself is issued. Gun show sales and internet sales of firearms are not excluded from this requirement.
