Our people our constantly being bombarded with news coverage of killings, injuries, murder, disasters, etc. The world is a hard enough place to live in without this constant reminder from 'news' outlets.
Positive stories exist. They are everywhere, but seldom reported.
It is time that news outlets become accountable for the stories they control and broadcast.
We are not restricting the outlets from reporting negative stories and thus taking away free speech, but we are adding a requirement that if you are to cover a negative story, you must also cover positive stories.
Fear-mongering insights public unrest which is not protected speech. Controlling the amount of negative news against positive news will diminish incitement and keep free speech protected.
